September always feels like a proper reset to me - more than January does, if I'm honest.

The summer's over, the to-do list has crept back up, and there's still time to make the rest of the year count instead of just getting through it.

So this day is about getting back to basics: stripping things back to what actually matters for your business, and leaving with a plan that takes you to the end of the year feeling proud, not frazzled.

This isn't another workshop. You won't spend the day sitting through endless presentations or filling a notebook with ideas you'll never use.

Instead, this is a practical, supportive day where you'll finally give your business the attention it deserves.

My goal for you is that you make real progress made on the day itself - you won't just decide what to do, you'll start doing it, with my hlep and the support of everyone in the room.

Surrounded by peaceful countryside and conveniently located between Lichfield and Burton on Trent, it's the perfect place to step away from your usual environment and think clearly, make decisions and reconnect with your business.

Lunch and refreshments are included throughout the day, along with your printed planning materials so all you need to bring is yourself, an open mind and whatever helps you plan and record ideas and actions: a notebook, laptop or a favourite planner.

Hi, I'm Cath

When I started my coaching business I thought marketing would be a breeze - I'd worked in marketing and business development for 25 years before training as a coach, so how hard could it be?

I soon discovered that promoting yourself is a whole different ball game. You're suddenly doing EVERYTHING! Then there's the uncertainty, overwhelm and imposter syndrome kicking in. Plus you've got opposing advice coming at you from all angles.

Over the years I've realised that most business owners don't need another marketing tactic. They need someone to help them step back, make sense of everything and decide what really matters. That's exactly what I love doing.

I created the Marketing Away Days to give you the time and space that so often gets pushed aside in the day-to-day running of your business. I hope you can join us!

FAQ's

What if I don't have a business plan or strategy yet?

That really doesn't matter. We work with where you actually are, not where you think you should be.

Will I get individual attention, or is this just a talk?

It's designed as an interactive day, not just one person talking at you. I want you to be able to ask questions and take practical action, not just listen to a load of theory that fills your notebook but doesn't move your business forward.

I'm quite introverted - will I be put on the spot?

Absolutely not! I can promise you that because I'd hate it to. There's no pressure to perform or fill a silence before you're ready. You'll be invited to have genuine conversations, but never put on the spot.

I'm not very "marketing-minded" - is this still for me?

Yes! This day isn't about jargon, platforms or anything technical. It's about working out what fits you and your business, in a way that makes sense for you.

What happens after the day? Am I committed to anything?

No, not at all...unless you want to be. The day itself is a one-off. You're welcome to stay connected through the wider community afterwards (future away days, informal catch-ups or 1:1 support) but there's no obligation to join anything.
